It can be quite difficult to avoid giving clich© gift for grandparents. Why do people do it? Why do they feel that their grandparent would like the most mundane gift imaginable? Is it because their old? To be fair, grandparents have the habit of saying that they don’t need anything, which can be why grandchildren settle for scarves, slippers, vests, dressing gowns or a bottle of scotch. This Christmas think outside the box. It could pump a bit of life back in to them. Sadly, they won’t be a alive forever. Who knows, you could really bond with them through buying the perfect gift.

It’s never too old to learn something new. Around 62% of OAPs that have learned to use the internet only did so to book cheap holidays. There’s so much else the web can be used for. Teach them, consider gadgets like the iPad, Apple Mac, Mp3 player even a computer console. They may have no idea to the abundance of technology available on the market. The web is great for booking cheap holidays, but they could also sign up for dating sites, join Social Networks and meet new people.

Personalised presents can really show you care. Customising a gift from scratch; would be much appreciated by your grandparent. Organise a fishing trip with your Grandad. Take him on a fishing trip, one she used to go as a lad. He might get quite emotional. Make him feel young again. Consider 18th birthday gifts, things that you may consider for youngsters; such as a new car or a weekend away to Amsterdam. I’m not kidding. Sound him out first but don’t let the cat out of the bag. If they are not the most mobile, a gift of a cleaning or handyman service would be much appreciated.
