Soldier poses for my photography shoot?

heyy guys
doing a course in photography, and im getting my boyfriend to let me take pictures of him in his gear for the army. i dont know what i could get him to do?
different poses and stuff?
any props i could use?
i would like to make it really interesting

The salute, the at attention stance, rifle on his shoulder, by his side, port i think its called. its where you hold the rifle 4″ from your chest with both hands on the rifle close together, rifle is diagonal to body posture.

A rifle would be a good prop, since a lot of these poses are with it. If you had binoculars you could do something where he’s looking thru them.

For me, I think the setting sun behind him would add great interest. you wouldn’t have a great view of his face necessarily and I think that might be good. Then he’s not like one soldier, he’s like all soldiers. it would be sort of a silhouette view of it. You could do it more normally as well.

if you have a big enough area, use a flash to create his shadow behind him big scale. Good Luck
