The internet is a great place to learn magic tricks. There are places and websites that you can find DVDs and tutorials at. Find youtube videos that will teach you.

Here are a few simple card tricks sure to entertain your family at the next holiday gathering:

This trick only involves psychic powers and a normal deck of cards. Tell someone to shuffle the deck. Then fan the cards across a table, face up, reminding everyone the cards are in no particular order. While you do this, identify the top card.

Have your spectator cut the deck into three piles, making sure to keep your eye on where the card that was on top of the deck ends up. Keep the top of the deck in the middle.

Ask the spectator to check the card on the top of the middle pile without showing you. You already know this card, but they don’t know that. Ask them to put the card in any of the three piles.

Put all of the decks back together, and shuffle the cards. Ask the spectator to concentrate on the card in question. Ask them to concentrate on the color, then tell them. Next, ask them to think of the suit. Ask them to tell you the number of the card in their mind. Then you can reveal it, because you knew it all along.

This one is easier, but you have to keep doing it before they figure it out. Separate the cards by blacks or reds. Then, put them back together. Now you can do this in front of an audience.

Separate the cards again, face down. Ask someone to pick up a card from each pile and ask them to memorize them. Then ask them to place each of the two cards in the opposite pile from which it was selected. Then ask the person to keep the cards face down so you can’t see them and shuffle each pile, then put one of the piles on top of the other.

Since no one knows that you separated the colors before the trick, Pick up the deck and announce the cards.

This card trick requires some practice if you really want to sell your audience. Begin with a relatively new deck of cards. Spread the deck face down and ask someone to pick a card. They can show others or keep it a secret. Ask the whole group to close their eyes and imagine it.

Slightly bend the corner of one card. Ask someone to place the card on the top of the deck. Ask the same person to cut the deck. Make sure the card it very hidden. You will always find the magic card just below the bent card.
